The local people have protested against the Mukhtinath helicopter tours and due to this reason helicopter tours cannot be performed here. The local people didn't allow landing helicopter in this pilgrimage site. According to Tibetan Buddhists, the temple of Mukhtinath is called as Chumig Gyatsa, a place of Dakinis, goddesses known as Sky Dancers. This place has great significance among the Tibetan Buddhists. According to them Chumig Gyatsa is one of the 24 Tantric places.
